The HYC Board of Directors would like to express our appreciation to the Shoreacres community by hosting a special event on July 12th. We invite the community to join us for complimentary burgers, hot dogs, snow cones, swimming, and a variety of fun activities.

Additional beverages and other food items will be available for purchase throughout the clubhouse. A credit card will be required, and a guest pass can be arranged through the front desk to facilitate these purchases.

RSVPs are requested to ensure we have enough food and space for all attendees. Guests must register using the Eventbrite link: Register at Eventbrite.

Member volunteers will be available to offer tours of the property and answer any questions they may have about the club.

The city’s office staff, Bernie, Elaine, and Diane, chipped in and gave them Easter baskets full of goodies in appreciation of their contributions to our community.

Please see the chart below from the CDC about heat related illnesses. Be sure and check on your elderly neighbors, daily if possible. If you see someone in need, call 911 if an emergency, dispatch (281-842-3185) if it is not an emergency but you think that on-site help is needed, or City Hall for non-emergency needs.

The Houston Yacht Club will have their fireworks show on the evening of July 3, and it can be viewed from the Miramar shoreline. The weather has not provided for much moisture lately so any illegal fireworks observed will be referred to local law enforcement.

Parking on Miramar will be allowed on July 3 and July 4 so our residents and visitors can enjoy the firework shows from the area.

The city will be recognizing these students at the next City Council meeting.

Due to the amount of debris from Hurricane Nicholas the city has moved the fall Clean up/Green up to the week of September 27th through October 1st.

The trucks will start on the east side of the city beginning Monday morning and will work their way to the west side. There will only be one pass through the city so have your debris on the curb by Monday, September 27th at 7:00 am.

As a reminder your trash/building materials must be separate from your vegetation. If you mix your piles with both vegetation and trash/building materials it will not be picked up and you will be responsible for its disposal. Any items with freon in them (refrigerators, freezers, air-conditioners, etc.) must have the freon removed and property tagged.

Please let your neighbors know about this change in dates.

Pickups will occur tomorrow and Friday starting at 6 am.

They will ONLY pick up vegetation. If you have mixed trash or building materials in with your vegetation, they will not pick it up and you will be responsible for disposing of it.
