Building
Apply for a Building Permit
The Building Department reviews plans, inspects construction, and issues permits for all development in the City of Shoreacres. This department also handles all permits, including fill and demolition. Because we are a small city, we do not have a full-time, on-staff inspector. We contract with SAFEbuilt to provide all inspections. The homeowner or contractor schedules all permit applications and inspections through our permitting and inspections portal.
Work requiring permits cannot start until the Building Department issues the permit. Permit applications must be reviewed and approved by staff, and all fees are calculated accordingly. We accept Cash, Check, MasterCard ,and Visa payments for building permits and registrations.
Building Inspection Hours
The homeowner and contractor pre-arrange all inspections through our permitting and inspections portal page. Instructions for scheduling an inspection after receiving your permit are located at the bottom of the page.
